Midfielder Delighted After Victory
Brad Potts insists Blackpool must ensure their impressive victory against Scunthorpe United at the weekend will be the springboard for a strong second-half to the season.
The Seasiders produced their best showing of the season on their way to a 5-0 victory at Bloomfield Road, with the midfielder helping himself to two.
That victory moved the hosts out of the relegation zone and Potts says they should now be looking up, after spirits were lifted.
“We should have confidence from the win, it will be a hard game next weekend but we’ve just got to work as well as we did against Scunthorpe,” he said.
“It was probably our best performance of the season. All the lads were working for each other and we were working as a team instead of as individuals.
“The lads knew we needed a big performance. To win was the main thing, but to score five goals and keep a clean sheet was even better.”
Potts took his season total to five with two first-half strikes, before setting up Danny Philliskirk after the break, and was delighted to play his part.
“The first one I scored was a really good team move so I was delighted to finish it off. The second one I probably hit it too early but it doesn’t matter because it went in.
“I probably could have had three but I thought I’d set up ‘Philly’ to score. I knew he was dying to open his account for Blackpool, so to set him up I was really happy,” he added.
