Plenty Of Pool Options
Jack Redshaw believes competition for places up front will make Blackpool a stronger side during the second-half of the season.
Redshaw is one of five strikers competing for The Seasiders, and is currently in possession of the shirt alongside Danny Philliskirk.
However, with Mark Cullen and Uche Ikpeazu breathing down their necks, and Martin Paterson close to a return, the battle is set to get the best out of all five.
“It keeps you on your toes and makes you want to perform better to stay in the team,” Redshaw explained.
“The Gaffer could change it at any minute so you have to keep playing well and hopefully you get the nod to go again.
“Every player wants to play football even if you have a little niggle like myself. We’ve got four strikers ready to go and Martin (Paterson) is trying to get fit again so there’s competition.”
Blackpool enter Saturday’s contest with Gillingham unbeaten in three matches and Redshaw believes they’re growing as a team each week.
“I don’t see any danger at all. The results have picked up lately and we’ve been unlucky in certain games but the luck can change at any minute.
“The team’s been together a lot longer and it’s gelling together a lot better than it was so hopefully we can keep kicking on and move up the league,” he added.
