Wingers Pens 18-Month Contract

Winger Mark Yeates has finalised a move to Blackpool on an 18-month deal, with an option for a further year.

The Irishman, 30, joins the club following a short-term stint with Oldham Athletic, where he has featured on 20 occasions this season.

A former youth prospect at Tottenham, Yeates has played more than 360 league games in his career to date for the likes of Colchester United, Sheffield United and Watford.

He spent two seasons with Bradford City prior to joining Oldham in the summer and played a part in the club's FA Cup run, scoring in the defeat of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. He made a total of 81 appearances for the The Bantams and scored seven times.

"He gives us a little bit of experience and certainly gives us a little bit of pace as well. His delivery from open play, as well as set-plays, is excellent. We're looking forward to working with him," manager Neil McDonald said.
