Yeates On Facing Former Club

26 January 2016

Winger Preparing For Sheff Utd

Mark Yeates believes recent impressive results have given Blackpool the belief that they can take all three points from Sheffield United on Tuesday.

The winger has started all three games since his arrival from Oldham Athletic and helped Pool to a thrashing of Scunthorpe and a solid performance at Walsall.

A former Blade himself, Yeates can see the confidence growing inside the camp and is relishing another game in quick succession.

“Coming back to your home turf you’re hoping you can put in a strong performance,” he said. “We’ve got to take a lot of positives from the last two results.

“We went away to Walsall and to be honest had the better chances, first-half especially I thought we played very well, then beating ‘Scunny’ 5-0 was a great result too.

“The boys at the back are a solid bunch, we’re always going to be in with a chance of taking something from games because we don’t concede a lot of goals.”

The 30-year-old winger spent 18 months at Bramall Lane before departing for Watford in 2011, so is looking forward to facing his former employers.

“I’ve played them a couple of time this season (for Oldham), it’s a super club, probably one of the biggest in our division.

“They’ll be fancying themselves in the second half of the season to push into the top six so we know they’re a strong side and have a lot of options within their group.

“Hopefully we’ll stay solid and if we’re clinical like we were against ‘Scunny’ there’s no reason we can’t win,” he added.
