Manager Pleased With First Pre-Season GameGary Bowyer says Blackpool's 3-0 pre-season victory against Dundee United this afternoon was 'a very good workout' for his players.
Goals from Danny Philliskirk (two) and Jamille Matt rounded off a satisfying display in Scotland, in a match that was played behind closed doors.
"It was a very good workout and we got some good minutes into everybody," Bowyer told the official website. "To keep a clean sheet and score three goals on top of that was pleasing."
Quick to emphasise before the game that the result wasn't necessarily important at this stage of pre-season, the manager was happy to see some of the squad's work on the training ground transfer to the field of play.
"The timings and everything are never going to be there straight away but you could see one or two pieces of what we've worked on in training coming together. We're happy with how things went from that point of view.
"We'll now continue training and increase the intensity again ahead of another game on Friday."
