Former Plymouth Pair Reunited At BlackpoolJamille Matt has revealed his delight at the news of right-back Kelvin Mellor joining him at Blackpool.
The pair featured alongside each other at Plymouth Argyle last season and the link-up brought the ex-Fleetwood Town man success in front of goal.
"He had a few assists for my goals last season and hopefully we can work well like we did at Plymouth and that partnership can bring more goals here at Blackpool," he told the official website.
"Kelvin is someone the gaffer asked me about bringing in, and I only had good things to say about him. He'll be a great addition to the squad."
In total, five new faces have been added by manager Gary Bowyer to date and his intentions are pretty clear.
"You can see the impetus he's put on us with the signings he's made already, it's to go up," Matt admitted. "I think we'll be up there challenging and that's the reason why I came here, to get back into League One."
More than 50 games will be on the agenda when EFL Cup, EFL Trophy and FA Cup games are factored into the season, so every player will need to stand up and be counted.
"We've got some good options in the squad. You might not want to be rotated but with the way the season is, you probably will be rotated. When someone goes out of the team, the person that comes in will be as good quality, if not better. That can only bode well for the season."
