Striker Giving Everything To Impress
Kyle Vassell is determined to impress during pre-season and earn a starting spot when Blackpool kick-off their League Two campaign next month.
A summer recruit from Peterborough United, Vassell played 45 minutes of Pool’s opening pre-season friendly win over Dundee United earlier this week.
Having caught the eye for his endeavour during training, the 23-year-old will have another opportunity to gain plaudits against Peterhead on Friday evening.
“I’ve got to impress the Gaffer and Richie to give myself the best possible chance,” he explained.
“I know what I can do, I’ve just got to prove it again. It’s been a tough year, Peterborough didn’t work out and I’ve been bouncing about for a couple of years.
“I don’t want to do that anymore. I need to settle. I want to be somewhere I feel appreciated, feel loved and enjoy my football.”
Made welcome by staff and players at Bloomfield Road, Vassell is enjoying life at Blackpool, which he believes will get the best out of him.
“I went into the Village the other day and a fan came straight up to me to welcome me. Little things like that make you feel better.
“Having an arm around me should hopefully reflect in my performances. I’ve had loads of teams and always get on with the boys, and that’s been the same here.
“Now I have to work hard and impress because we have good players. It should keep the squad buzzing because nobody will get complacent,” he added.
