Blackpool Open Campaign At Home To Exeter City

22 June 2016

New Fixtures Released

Blackpool will get their Sky Bet League Two season underway by welcoming Exeter City to Bloomfield Road on Saturday 6 August.

New manager Gary Bowyer will be looking for his side to get off to a strong start against The Grecians, with away fixtures against Morecambe (13 August) and Barnet (16 August) to follow.

The Seasiders face trips to Hartlepool United and Grimsby Town on Boxing Day and New Year's Eve respectively, while the Easter weekend sees the team come up against Accrington Stanley at home (15 April) and Doncaster Rovers away (17 April).

The campaign will end at Bloomfield Road on Saturday 6 May, as Blackpool host Leyton Orient.

Overall the make-up of the division means that Blackpool will spend more than 8,500 miles on the road during the season, however plans have already been made to deal with the travel schedule.

"We've already made plans and made inroads on that in terms of how best to accommodate the travelling and recovery already. It will be the same for all the teams in the division," manager Gary Bowyer said.

"Now that the fixtures are out I'm counting down the weeks to the season getting underway. The players report back for pre-season training this time next week and it'll be great to get on the training ground and start working with them."

The full fixture list, which was revealed at 9am this morning, can be viewed here.

Supporters are asked to note that all dates and kick-off times are subject to change throughout the season.
