New Arrival Motivated For ChallengeJamille Matt has been quick to set targets following confirmation of his move to Blackpool, as he looks to fire the club to promotion.
The striker, determined to transfer his end of season form from a loan spell at Plymouth, hopes his time at Bloomfield Road will bring out the best in him on a regular basis.
"I showed a bit of what I can do towards the end of last season, my next goal now is to do that over the full season and try and get a good amount of goals to try and help the team to promotion," he admitted.
Hurt from not achieving promotion in the League Two play-off final at Wembley last month, the 26-year-old aims to channel the disappointment and go one further in tangerine.
"I was gutted at the end of the season, it was one of my worst moments in football what happened there. But that's something that drives me on for next season because I don't want to feel that again."
His arrival at Blackpool will see him compete with the likes of Mark Cullen, Jack Redshaw and Danny Philliskirk up-top, though he hopes to offer a different type of outlet.
"I like to think I'm physical and a threat all the way through the game. I try to play quite high and occupy the centre-halves," he said. "The strikers that are here at the club I think will complement myself and hopefully we'll be able to score a few goals and be at the top end of the table."
He officially joins the club once his contract at Fleetwood comes to an end later this month and is excited at the prospect of helping The Seasiders bounce back.
"I spent three-and-a-half years at Fleetwood and I have fond memories of the club, and some bad memories as well with the injuries. I'm just looking forward to my new challenge now with Blackpool and looking forward to the season," he added.
