Defender Says Blackpool Must Build On Crewe ResultTom Aldred says Blackpool must kick-on over the Easter period following a massive three points against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.
The defender, who scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 2-1 victory, was delighted to come out on the right side of a dramatic encounter and is now geared up for a big push to divisional safety.
"We've not been getting the rub of the green and we've been on the wrong side of the fine lines recently, but we've come out on the right side of a rollercoaster game at Crewe. It's important that we use that now to kick on.
"We've got back-to-back games in the space of four games and it's important that we try and take as many points from those as we can."
Aldred's goal at Crewe was his fifth of the season and could well prove his biggest come the end of the season, especially with it coming just a minute after an equaliser and with 10 men.
"We work a set-play where I obviously get myself up as a target. We were working on that when we had 11 men on the pitch but unfortunately when we went down to 10 I couldn't really get myself up. When the equaliser went in we threw caution to the wind and I managed to get myself up and it fortunately landed for me.
"Fortunately lady luck was on our side with the late penalty and we managed to come away with a massive three points."
