Club Appoints New Secretary

10 March 2016

Cowdy To Take Up Position

Blackpool Football Club has appointed Alex Cowdy, currently Football Co-Ordinator at Fleetwood Town, as its new Club Secretary.

Cowdy, who has worked in his position at Highbury Stadium for the past 14 months, was previously an FA Licenced Agent for 10 years and represented former Pool defender Alex Baptiste.

He will officially take up the role on Wednesday 16 March and replaces Nick Alford, who has accepted a new position in the South.

Chairman Karl Oyston said: “I am delighted that Alex has accepted the position and I look forward to working with him. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked on both sides of the game, and was the ideal candidate to replace Nick.

“It was essential that we had a seamless transition at such an important stage of the season.”

On his appointment, Alex Cowdy added: “I feel very privileged to have been given the opportunity to join Blackpool FC as Club Secretary and I can’t wait to get started.

“I look forward to carrying on the good work Nick Alford has done in football administration and operations this season.”
