Defender Pleased To Be Back
Lloyd Jones revealed he asked Liverpool to return to Blackpool so he can help the club fight their way to League One survival.
The loanee defender returned to Bloomfield Road last week, after recovering from knee and ankle injuries, and featured on the bench against Millwall.
Having played two Under-21 games for Liverpool, the 20-year-old is now in line for a return to Pool action, where the battle for points is real.
“I wanted to come back, I asked Liverpool to come back,” he explained. “I like the club here and I’ve missed playing league football.
“I played 70 minutes against Sunderland and 80 against Burnley so I haven’t actually played 90 minutes yet, but hopefully I can play on Saturday and we can get the three points.
“I’m still young, just turned 20, so hopefully I can make up for my lack of experience with my technical ability (in Blackpool’s battle).”
The Seasiders take on Coventry City on Saturday, knowing a victory could move them out of the relegation zone and provide a huge psychological boost.
“We’ve got nearly a quarter of the season left, I think people are forgetting that and we can easily climb our way back up with a few wins.
“I took part in the game on Saturday on the bench, we’ve got to put the loss behind us. We’ve all got to stick together and get out of it while we can.
“Obviously we haven’t had many wins of late so hopefully we can get the ball rolling on Saturday and then we’ve got two big games against Oldham and Crewe,” he added.
