McDonald Exploring Loan Options

17 March 2016

Manager Making Calls

Neil McDonald says he's been given 'scope' to bring one or two new faces to the club before the emergency loan window closes.

The manager is currently exploring the availability of certain players in an effort to bolster his squad for the run-in.

"I've been given scope to try and bring a couple in if I possibly can," the manager confirmed. "I'm just waiting on a phone call on that to try and give more competition for places and hopefully add somebody who can put the ball in the back of the net."

As it stands the club has the five loan players permitted in an 18-man squad on its books, however the loan of goalkeeper Dean Lyness, which totals 93 days, expires on Tuesday and cannot be extended.

"Dean is going back so we thank him for all his efforts. We'll see how that develops for the rest of the season and where he's at with Burton. He's been good for us and we wish him all the best when he goes back."

The window for emergency loans closes at 5pm next Thursday (24 March).
