Manager Content To Have Played A Game MoreNeil McDonald says he's content to have the points on the board rather than games in hand at this stage of the season.
Seven points from a possible nine have taken Blackpool onto 42 points for the season and although some sides are playing catch up, The Seasiders already know where they stand.
"If people are chasing us, sometimes it's difficult to chase. We have to look after ourselves, nobody else can do us a favour, so if we can win the majority of our six games then we'll be OK," McDonald said.
"I know we've played more games than everybody else but we've got the points on the board. It's difficult winning games at the end of the season because everybody has got something riding on it."
The way Blackpool have handled the pressure in recent matches has impressed the manager, with talks after defeat to Oldham Athletic proving fruitful.
"We have discussions after every game and we were really disappointed, especially after our first-half performance against Oldham and not to get anything out of the game. We know the situation that we're in at the moment, it's vitally important that this club doesn't get relegated.
"The players have handled the pressure really, really well, we've tried to reaffirm the basics and get the basics right when defending and attacking. We seem to be getting both of them right at the moment.
"We just need to keep picking up the points and try and get as many wins as we can in the last six games," he added.
