Osayi-Samuel Up For Football League Award

16 March 2016

Winger Shortlisted In League One Apprentice Category

Blackpool's Bright Osayi-Samuel is in contention to be named League One LFE Apprentice of the Year at the Football League awards.

The winger, 18, has been shortlisted for the accolade alongside Barnsley's James Bree and Swindon Town's Thomas Smith, with the winner to be announced at a gala ceremony in Manchester on Sunday 17 April.

The award recognises outstanding young professionals at Football League clubs who excel both on and off the pitch. Players registered as a first or second-year scholar, or as a first-year professional, are eligible for the award. Judges take into account the record of the player in all competitions since he became an apprentice, as well as his educational attainment, disciplinary record and any other outstanding achievements.

Osayi-Samuel made his debut for Blackpool last season after starring for the youth team, and has made 23 appearances for Neil McDonald's side this season.
