Preview: Millwall (A)

4 March 2016

Pool Travel To The Den

Fixture| Millwall vs Blackpool
Date| 5 March 2016
Venue| The Den

A point provided something for Blackpool to build on in mid-week and they’ll look to go one step better at promotion-chasing Millwall on Saturday.

The Seasiders dropped into the bottom four but will take heart from the performance at Chesterfield and look to add to their two away wins.

Three points at The Den are likely to lift Neil McDonald’s side above the dotted line and would provide a dent in Millwall’s promotion charge.

The Opposition
Millwall are well positioned to bounce back to The Championship at the first time of asking, occupying a place top six with 55 points.

The job is far from done however, with the chasing pack led by Barnsley three points behind The Lions, who have drawn their last two matches.

Strikers Lee Gregory and Steve Morison have hit 23 of their 52 league goals, but they couldn’t find a winner against 10-man Wigan Athletic on Tuesday.

Team News
McDonald welcomes back Will Aimson from suspension, but loses David Ferguson for the same reason after his red card at The Proact Stadium.

Lloyd Jones has returned from Liverpool and could feature, while Hayden White will be assessed after coming off on Tuesday.

Millwall are likely to be without Ed Upson, who has missed the last three games with a hamstring injury.

Shaun Cummings and Tony Craig are also expecting to watch from the stands with injuries.

Pre-Match Quotes
McDonald: “We have to pick up as many points as we can and certainly wins. If you can get a couple of wins it moves you right up the league. We drew and competed with them and we have good spirits after a fantastic performance against Chesterfield.”

Neil Harris: “We go again Saturday and can reinforce a good week with a victory on Saturday. It's going to be another tough one for different reasons (to Wigan), Blackpool need points so we’ll have to be fiery, aggressive, use the ball and add the end product.”
