Pool Travel To Boundary Park

Fixture | Oldham Athletic vs Blackpool
Date | 15 March 2016
Venue | Boundary Park

Entering the business end of the season and Blackpool take on fellow relegation candidates Oldham Athletic, knowing three points could move them out of the drop zone.

The Seasiders are without a win in seven matches, but sit a point above Oldham with two massive games in the space of five days.

The two sides played out a goalless draw at Bloomfield Road last month, but with Oldham’s games in hand, victory for Neil McDonald’s men would be a big boost.

The Opposition
The arrival of John Sheridan at Boundary Park has had the desired effect, with the former Newport County boss giving The Latics a realistic chance of survival.

At the time of his appointment Oldham were five points from safety, and the gap has now been cut to three, with games on their side.

Their mini revival did hit a bump on Saturday however, as a run of seven unbeaten matches was ended with a 3-0 defeat at Sheffield United.

Team News
Hayden White provides a timely boost, after serving his one-match ban at the weekend. Blackpool will however be without the injured Clark Robertson, while David Ferguson and John Herron remain doubtful and Henry Cameron is a long-term absentee.

Dominic Poleon remains Oldham’s only absentee, while skipper Liam Kelly could return to the starting line-up.

Pre-Match Quotes
McDonald: “It’s a big month, nobody won on Saturday to open the gap so it was a massive loss. We’ve got ten cup finals coming up now, we must stay strong and keep believing in what we’re doing. When the chances come along we have to take them and hopefully we get a bit of help from the officials.”

Sheridan: “We are going to go all guns blazing and try and win the game because it is a big game for us. We are playing against a team and we need to gain an advantage on us. It’s a team in and around us and we can gain an advantage on us, likewise for Blackpool."
