Defender Remaining Hopeful
Tom Aldred insists his team mates must fight for each other if Blackpool are to pull themselves out of trouble and survive on the final day.
The Seasiders know nothing but a win at Peterborough United on Sunday will do, as they attempt to leapfrog Fleetwood Town.
A win, coupled with a Fleetwood defeat, would see Pool safe and Aldred says they can’t leave anything out on the pitch at London Road.
“We need to pull together as a team and show fight and determination to never give up, whatever the circumstances,” he insisted.
“We need to dig each other out and fight for each other. We’ve got to stand up and be counted like we did against the likes of Fleetwood, Doncaster and Crewe.
“We can’t influence things elsewhere, so must be in a position to take advantage of the opportunity if it comes.”
Aldred was part of the side which beat Peterborough back in December and has helped the club to rid unwanted records across the course of the season.
Now he’s looking to end the season on a positive note, by helping Blackpool to another campaign in League One.
“We’ve had challenges to overcome and accomplish all season – a first away win in some time, first back-to-back wins, clean sheet records.
“We’ve beaten Peterborough already this season and picked up a clean sheet, we now need a similar result on Sunday.
“We’re well aware of what needs to happen and we’ll be doing all we can to try and stay in League One,” he added.
