Boyce Named Club's PFA Community Champion

Defender Rewarded For Community Efforts

Emmerson Boyce was named Blackpool's PFA Community Champion prior to the game against his former club Wigan on Saturday.

The 36-year-old, who is the Community Trust's Education Ambassador, has regularly given up his time to talk with and inspire school pupils, BTEC learners and other people in the community, in an effort to help them develop and reach their full potential.
“I feel it is very important for everybody to be given the opportunity to receive a good education and to understand the importance of education," Boyce said.

“The sessions that are delivered through the Trust are not only beneficial where the curriculum is concerned for young people, but also teach the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and how that can aid their learning.

"As a footballer I believe, that as a role model, I should be setting an example and encouraging people to do their best and from there, they can become anything they want to be."
