Right-Back Scoops Honours at Academy Awards

Youth Team captain Macauley Wilson was the big winner at last night's Blackpool FC Academy Awards, picking up three trophies.

The 18-year-old, who signed a professional deal with the club last month, was named the Under-18s' Players' Player of the Year, the Academy Player of the Year and took home the Chris Muir Memorial Trophy as Youth Team Player of the Year.

It capped off a fine season for the right-back, who has scored 12 goals for Ciaran Donnelly's side and been named on the bench on one occasion for the first-team. 

Other winners on the night, who collected their trophies off winger Henry Cameron, were:

Under-9s - Harry Elmore (Players' Player and Coaches' Player of the Year)
Under-10s - Josh Hamp (Players' Player of the Year) and Ben Rollins (Coaches' Player of the Year)
Under-11s - Hayden Turner (Players' Player of the Year) and Freddie Kenyon (Coaches' Player of the Year)
Under-12s - William Squires (Players' Player and Coaches' Player of the Year)
Under-13s - Declan Preyzner (Players' Player of the Year) and Oliver Burgess (Coaches' Player of the Year)
Under-14s - Jonathon Healy (Players' Player of the Year) and Will McGladdery (Coaches' Player of the Year)
Under-15s - Will Avon (Players' Player and Coaches' Player of the Year)
Under-16s - Jack Newton (Players' Player of the Year) and Ben Jacobson (Coaches' Player of the Year)
Most Improved Goalkeeper of the Year - Luke Dagger
Goalkeeper of the Year - Sam Kellett
Foundation Phase Most Improved Player - Tom Stephenson
Foundation Phase Most Outstanding Player - Will Squires
Youth Development Phase Most Improved Player - Lewis Wainwright
Youth Development Phase Most Outstanding Player - Rowan Roache
