Manager Laments Late Defeat
Manager Gary Bowyer lamented Blackpool's late defeat at Mansfield Town, as a defensive lapse was punished in injury time.
The Seasiders had put in a resolute performance on the road but Danny Rose's effort denied the side what would have been a fair point on the balance of play.
Speaking post-match, here's what the manager had to say...
Late blow and defeat.
It's a cruel game sometimes. Unfortunately we've got to take it on the chin and get ready for Saturday. I didn't think there was much quality in the game from either side, I thought there was a lot of fight and effort and their goalkeeper has made a wonderful save from Clark. Unfortunately we've made a mistake at the end and it's costs us.
We had two opportunities to clear it and we failed to do it. As a result it's ended in the back of our net. We've now got to re-group and go again. We can't feel sorry for ourselves.
Few opportunities but chances to counter.
We spoke at half-time, we thought that we countered very well but we just didn't quite have that final pass and the composure to pick somebody out. We've just got to make sure that we do that better on Saturday.
End of unbeaten run, now to start another.
We've just spoke about that at the end of the game, we've shown that we can play and put runs together and win games. We've got to do that again now.
No Kyle Vassell.
He got a knock from the weekend and he failed a fitness test this morning. We think he should be back for Saturday.
