Pool Kick Off FA Cup Campaign
Fixture | Blackpool vs Kidderminster Harriers
Date | 6 November 2016
Venue | Bloomfield Road
Blackpool kick off their Emirates FA Cup campaign with a home tie against in-form National League North side Kidderminster Harriers on Sunday.
Managed by Gary Bowyer, who has a good record in this competition, Blackpool will be looking to avoid an upset and move to within a round of a potential glamour tie.
The Seasiders are without a win in the FA Cup since 2012 and will aim to rid the memory of last season’s first round exit at the hands of Barnet.
They go into the tie in good form, having beaten Doncaster Rovers at Bloomfield Road and picked up a point at Cheltenham Town a week ago.
Kidderminster themselves are flying high in the sixth tier, with back-to-back wins pushing them up to third following relegation last time out.
Blackpool twice came from behind to earn a point at Cheltenham, with Kyle Vassell at the double. The striker was also on target as Pool beat Doncaster 4-2 on their last home outing.
Kidderminster ground out an impressive 1-0 win against Stockport County last weekend. That came on the back of a 2-0 success over Harrogate Town, with both wins coming on the road.
Blackpool must do without influential defender Tom Aldred this weekend after he picked up his fifth booking of the season at Cheltenham. Dean Lyness and Jack Redshaw remain the only other absentees.
The Harriers have midfielder Ryan Croasdale suspended, also for five yellow cards, but Elton Ngwatala will face a late fitness test to replace him.
