Seasiders Back On Home Soil

Fixture | Blackpool vs Newport County
Date | 26 November 2016
Venue | Bloomfield Road

Preview
Having lost for the first time in seven matches in mid-week, Blackpool will look to spark a fresh run of positive results with victory over Newport County this weekend.

A cruel defeat at Mansfield Town saw Gary Bowyer’s men slip out of the play-off positions but victory over The Exiles, coupled with other results, could see them return instantly.

On home soil they’ve been impressive this season, with just one defeat so far, and Pool have hit ten goals in their previous three Bloomfield Road outings.

Newport sit bottom of the EFL but have looked a different animal since Graham Westley’s arrival and they’re looking to recover from a similar late defeat on Tuesday.

Recent Form
The Seasiders have already beaten Portsmouth, Doncaster Rovers and Notts County on home soil, so will hope for similar joy. Jamille Matt and Tom Aldred were on target in last week’s Leyton Orient success, before Pool fell at Field Mill.

Newport were amidst a seven-match unbeaten run until Tuesday’s late defeat at Wycombe. They conceded in injury time, but had beaten Accrington Stanley, Carlisle United and Notts County in recent weeks.

Team News
Leading scorer Kyle Vassell will be assessed prior to the game but is expected to return from injury to feature. Dean Lyness and Jack Redshaw remain sidelined.

Newport have had a number of players missing through injury in recent weeks. Striker Jon Parkin, Reece Grego-Cox, Jordan Green, Lanell John-Lewis and Marlon Jackson have all been out of action. Meanwhile, Jamie Turley and Kyle Cameron have been out, with Paul Bignot suspended. Mark Randall is back in contention having returned from injury recently.
