Midfielder Previews Big Eight Days
Jack Payne believes Blackpool are embarking on a massive week in a good frame of mind.
The Seasiders face three league games in the space of eight days, starting Saturday against Payne’s former club Leyton Orient.
Mansfield Town and Newport County fixtures follow for The Seasiders, who are full of confidence after last week’s thrashing of Notts County.
“Winning is a good habit because it breeds confidence,” says Payne. “We’re going into games knowing we can beat anyone.
“We all know we’ve got a massive week. If we get nine points we’ll be right in there, but we’re not thinking too far ahead.
“We’ve got a game on Saturday, get that out of the way and hopefully get the result we want, and go on to Tuesday.”
Payne, who spent last season on loan with Orient, waxed lyrical about Blackpool’s front line when speaking pre-match.
“We’ve got pace and power across the front four. If we clip one in behind we know we’re going to get something because they won’t give it up.
“When we counter attack on teams it’s so hard to stop because we’ve got pace and power which is hard to deal with,” he added.
