Defender Full Of Praise For Former Team-mate
Tom Aldred is relishing the opportunity of coming up against his former team-mate Piero Mingoia on Saturday.
The 26-year-old rates the winger highly from their time together at Accrington Stanley, having first noticed his ability when on the books at Watford.
"I was with him as a young lad at Watford coming through with him and obviously he went to Accrington and was probably my favourite player there over the two-year period," Aldred said.
"He was one of those lads who you knew what you were going to get from him week in, week out - a seven or eight out of ten."
Mingoia sits on four goals for Cambridge United so far this season and is set to be one of the danger men to look out for.
"He's definitely one of the most underrated players," the defender continued. "Sometimes people underestimate him because he's a very small lad, but in terms of his ability he'll be up there with the best in this league, and probably the league above in my opinion."
Blackpool go into the match looking to find consistency and pick up the results that certain performances this season have merited.
"It's obviously a learning curve at this stage of the season but we need to start putting results right, creating those performances we have done but churning out the results that we need," Aldred admitted.
"We've got to start being ruthless in front of goal and defending ruthlessly. We've just got to keep working hard, doing the right thing and believing that we can put a run together and get up the league and in and around where we want to be."
Building on some solid form at Bloomfield Road will be key to that this weekend, with the side unbeaten in six of their seven fixtures on home soil this season.
"We need to make this place a tough place to come and kick on really from that Portsmouth game, which I thought was probably our best performance of the season," he added.
