Pool Host Rovers
Fixture | Blackpool vs Doncaster Rovers
Date | 22 October 2016
Venue | Bloomfield Road
Looking for a reaction after last week’s tough defeat at Accrington Stanley, Blackpool are back at home and preparing to face in-form Doncaster Rovers.
The Seasiders succumbed to late defeat at Stanley but have had a tough week on the training field, which Gary Bowyer hopes will pay dividends come Saturday.
Despite no win during October, Blackpool are still within five points of the top seven and can move up four places with victory over Rovers.
Doncaster arrive in good form and have adjusted to life in League Two well after suffering relegation alongside Pool in May.
Blackpool conceded twice in the dying moments to lose at Accrington but enjoyed late drama themselves against Cambridge in their last home outing, earning a draw thanks to Andy Taylor’s free-kick.
Doncaster arrive on the back of three consecutive wins over Portsmouth, Barnet and Colchester. That run has pushed Darren Ferguson’s men up to second but they have lost three times away from home this season.
Bowyer has captain Danny Pugh back training and will make a late decision when deciding if he’s fit enough to feature. Dean Lyness and Jack Redshaw remain Blackpool’s only certain absentees.
Rovers are without leading scorer Andy Williams for two months. Their injury list is extensive and includes Frazer Richardson, Craig Alcock, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair, Mitchell Lund and Luke McCullough.
