Captain Danny Pugh is back training with the first-team after missing Blackpool's last seven matches due to an ankle problem.
The midfielder, who turned 34 yesterday, has been frustrated in his efforts to recover from heavy bone bruising and his absence from the side has been felt recently.
"It's great to have him back, I think we've missed his leadership qualities and perhaps that's been the missing thing for us in certain key moments of games in recent weeks," manager Gary Bowyer admitted.
"I'd have loved him back and he'd have loved to have been back a lot sooner, but we've now got him back and the most important thing is making the right decision to look after him and making sure that he's fully over the injury before we throw him back in."
Should Pugh show no adverse effects, he could come into contention for a return to the squad against Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.
