Striker Showing Promising Signs
Gary Bowyer has backed Armand Gnanduillet to build on his solid start to life at Blackpool.
The French striker has added height and strength to The Seasiders' front line since moving from Leyton Orient and scored his third goal in as many matches last weekend.
"It's three in three now for him and he's forming a decent partnership with Kyle Vassell," Bowyer said.
"He's been a handful and he's only going to get better because when he arrived he was short on game time. He's proving what a valuable asset he can be."
The onus on the whole team, as well as the strikers, to convert chances has been emphasised this week by the fact that Blackpool lead the way for most shots in the EFL this season.
"I'm aware that we're top of our league for shots taken and the next bit for us is to make sure that we're clinical. I would be probably more concerned if we weren't creating chances. It just shows you the type of football that we're trying to play," Bowyer admitted.
Four goals in the last two matches have resulted in just one point, which is something the side must improve on heading to Crewe Alexandra this Saturday.
"We've scored two in each game and you generally want more than just the point we got on Saturday out of that return. That's something we've spoken about with the players this week, but the pleasing thing is their attitude and confidence in how they're going about playing and how much they want to put it right, for the supporters as well as themselves," he added.
