Striker Aims To Impress
Jamille Matt hopes to get his season fully up and running after putting a tough start with injury behind him.
The striker, one of 12 new signings this summer, has fully recovered from the knee problem he sustained against Bolton and has since been part of Blackpool's last two squads.
"I've probably not been able to get my season going as much as I'd I've liked to since I've signed, but I got a good 30 minutes in at Crewe and I feel like I'm getting sharper," he told the official website.
"Hopefully I'll be pushing for a starting place. I've been back training with the lads for a couple of weeks now so hopefully I'll be in the gaffer's mind for Tuesday."
The 26-year-old's recent meetings against tomorrow's opponents Portsmouth have been good ones, as he found the target three times against them while on loan with Plymouth Argyle.
"I have happy memories from playing against them last season because I scored a few goals. Whoever the gaffer picks on Tuesday will be trying to score and win the game.
"They've recruited well in the summer but we've competed very well in every game this season and after being disappointed with some of our results, we'll be looking for the win."
The Seasiders head into the match on the back of a point against Crewe on Saturday, though the need to take chances has once again been emphasised.
"It's like a broken record saying it again and again and again but I don't think it will be long before we start taking those chances and get more wins on the board," Matt added.
