Midfielder Remaining Confident Ahead Of Crewe Clash
Jack Payne remains convinced a winning run is just around the corner for Blackpool, with performances proving consistent at the start of the season.
Pool’s displays have warranted more than the nine points collected so far, including last week against Carlisle, where Payne shone in the midfield.
A summer signing from Peterborough United, that was Payne’s first start in tangerine and he insists The Seasiders will come good.
“We have analysed and looked through games, and we should be winning games like last Saturday and Colchester,” he said.
“We’ve got to keep doing what we’ve been doing, the wins will come and we’ll go on a run, and nobody will think about the start of the season.
“We need to go to Crewe and get three points. We want to win every game and believe we can. When you win one or two the winning habit keeps coming.”
Employed as the deeper of the two central midfielders, Payne dictated proceedings last weekend, displaying his range of passing and ability on set pieces.
“I’m bringing something a little bit different and want to get on the ball. Everyone in the squad is a bit different, it’s a good squad in place here.
“The two lads up front have been on fire but everyone needs to chip in, defenders and midfielders.
“It’s a collective, we’ll defend as a team and score as a team. I think it’ll come as the season goes on,” he added.
