Striker On Carlisle Draw
Kyle Vassell believes Blackpool’s fight back against Carlisle United showcased the belief and character in Gary Bowyer’s squad.
The Seasiders came from two goals down to earn a point against the unbeaten Cumbrians at Bloomfield Road.
Vassell himself got the ball rolling with Pool’s first goal and was pleased with the application of the men in tangerine.
“I’m a bad loser but games like this you have to take the positives,” he said. “We played them off the pitch and we came from two goals down so it shows the character of the team.
“I thought their keeper was Man of the Match, particularly in the first-half. That's how it goes sometimes so if we keep doing what we’re doing results will come."
Vassell’s second-half header was his fourth goal for the club and displayed the understanding he has with fellow striker Armand Gnanduillet.
“It came at a good time. I’m happy to score goals and the big man produced a great finish so I thought we were going to win it.
“If the strikers are scoring goals it gives the whole team confidence as they’ll be looking to get the ball to us.
“We're getting a bit of an understanding. He set me up on Saturday, I set him up the other week, so it’s positive,” he added.
