Manager Looks For Players To Keep Up Momentum
Gary Bowyer is looking for his players to up the ante in the final two matches of the season and retain a place in the play-off spots.
The Seasiders are unbeaten in their last three matches and head to Notts County tomorrow aiming to keep up the momentum they've built up so far.
"We've got to keep that going now and we've really got to push on and finish these two games as strongly as we possibly can," Bowyer said. "I honestly believe that, within the group, there is more to come from them."
The determination and drive within the squad is such that the tempo has noticeably gone up a notch in training recently.
"The biggest challenge for us has been keeping the reins on them, not just this week but the last couple of weeks," the manager revealed. "The intensity and quality that they're producing in training has gone up another level and an enormous amount of credit has to go to them."
The race for the play-offs in Sky Bet League Two has drawn plenty of attention, with several teams in with a shout. From a Blackpool perspective, the overall focus remains the same.
"From our point of view we've prepared exactly the same as we have done all season. It's the next game and the next game always becomes the most important."
That game, at Notts County, sees Blackpool aiming to achieve their ninth away win of the campaign, which would be the club's best tally for 10 years.
"Some of our most impressive performances this season have come on the road - Carlisle away, Plymouth away and Doncaster away spring to mind very quickly.
"We've also gone to places and won where we've not played as well as what we can do, but we've shown that we can find a way to win and grind results out," Bowyer added.
