Danns: Channel Frustrations To Monday

Midfielder Looking Ahead Quickly

Neil Danns insists Blackpool must channel their frustrations from Friday into Monday’s clash with Doncaster Rovers.

The Seasiders were held to a goalless draw by Accrington Stanley, after missing a penalty and striking the post.

The point keeps Pool in the mix, however and the focus now swings to a crucial fixture on Easter Monday.

“It’s a missed opportunity, no doubt about that, but it’s still in our hands in a sense because a lot of teams have got to play each other.

“If we can get a positive result on Monday I’m sure it will look a lot different. Luckily results have gone our way in the main and we go again on Monday.

“They’re already promoted, we’re under no allusions that it’s going to be a tough game, but we’re a good side as well, fighting for a play-off place, so it won’t be easy for Doncaster either.”

Danns played the full 90 minutes as Pool battled hard against an in-form Stanley side, but were ultimately felt frustrated come full-time despite their best efforts.

“You have those days in football sometimes where it won’t go in for you and it’s frustrating because we’ve had our chances.

“We controlled the game, they didn’t have too many chances. If they were being honest they'd say we were the better team throughout, but we go again on Monday,” he added.
