Professionalism Pleases Robertson

Defender On Goal And Win

Clark Robertson was impressed by Blackpool’s professionalism when seeing off Cheltenham Town to secure three vital points.

The defender got off the mark for the season as Pool cruised to a 3-0 success over The Robins.

With three points the aim for Pool’s play-off charge, Robertson praised the mentality of The Seasiders.

“I thought the lads were terrific,” he said. “We knew Cheltenham would come here and fire plenty of long balls into our box but I thought we dealt with it perfectly well.

“We knew it was going to be difficult because they’re battling for their lives, but we won our first and second balls.”

The defender rifled into the roof of the net to put Pool 2-0 up and was relieved to get off the mark for the season.

“The manager’s been harping on at me in training every week saying it’s about time I scored and I was delighted to see it go in the net.

“I think Tom (Aldred) had a shot blocked and I just leathered it into the roof of the net. It’s a weight off my shoulders, it’s been a long time coming.”
