Gary Bowyer is looking for his side to build on a morale-boosting first victory of the season when Blackpool face Doncaster Rovers tomorrow.
Fresh from recording a 1-0 win against MK Dons last time out, the manager is keen to see his players strive for further improvement at The Keepmoat Stadium.
“We’ve got to go there with the confidence from last week’s performance and the performance against Bradford,” he said.
“The performance against MK was boosted by the fact that we got our first three points, and now we’ve got to go out and try and get three points away from home.”
The squad that takes on Doncaster is set to include the welcome return of Kelvin Mellor, who has been unavailable in previous games due to injury.
“Kelvin Mellor has been given the green light to join in and he joined in on Tuesday and came through that unscathed. We’re delighted with that and it’s great to have him back in the squad,” the manager admitted.
Mellor is one of a number of players who could bolster the 18 this weekend, while new arrival Scott Quigley will be monitored in training.
“So far this season we’ve brought Curtis Tilt in from Non-League and Nick Anderton. The way they’ve took to it has been fantastic, and hopefully Scott can follow in that form.
“He’s been involved in European football over the summer so he’ll be match fit from that point of view. We’ve just got to assess him in training and see where he’s at. I wouldn’t have any problems if he’s fit and well putting him in Saturday’s squad at Doncaster,” Bowyer added.
