Sean Longstaff was delighted his first goal in English league football brought about Blackpool’s first three points of the season against MK Dons.
The midfielder, on loan from Newcastle Untied, fired the winner five minutes into his EFL debut in tangerine, and was in good spirit post-match.
“I’m buzzing, not just for me but for all the lads,” he said. “To get the first win of the season breathes a sigh of relief and hopefully we can kick on from here.
“To get a goal on your debut is brilliant and everyone’s buzzing in the changing room.
“We all worked for each other and ground out the result, sometimes it wasn’t pretty at times, but we did the little things which came together and that’s how we wont the game.”
It was Blackpool’s first three points of the season and first back in League One, and Longstaff wants his new side to kick on from this.
“The longer the wait goes for a win, the more tense everyone gets. In the first home game of the season, it’s brilliant to get the win and get everyone on side.
“They’re a good side, they had spells in the game where they were on top. We coped with them well and restricted them to half chances, so hopefully we can build on this,” he added.
