Danny Philliskirk is feeling fit and ready for the new campaign after getting back on the score sheet during pre-season.
The striker netted in friendlies against Radcliffe and Chorley, and is in good shape ahead of the season opener this weekend.
“I’ve gone out there, tried to express myself and play with a bit of freedom,” he said. “Luckily I’ve scored a couple of goals and I feel as though I’m in a confident spell.
“First and foremost it’s been about fitness and now the season is starting it’s up to the manager who he picks.”
The goals have been well spread across pre-season, with all of Pool’s strikers hitting the back of the net, which Philliskirk believes bodes well for the campaign.
“It’s good competition, there’s even been goals from midfield with the likes of ‘Pottsy’ and Bright (Osayi-Samuel). Hopefully we’ll take it into the season.”
