Fixture | Blackpool vs Scunthorpe United – Date | Boxing Day – Venue | Bloomfield Road
Boxing Day football has Blackpool entertaining Scunthorpe United at Bloomfield Road tomorrow, kick-off 3pm.
This will be the second meeting between the teams this season, with the first ended goal-less at Glanford Park back in September.
The Iron currently sit fourth in Sky Bet League One, while The Seasiders are in the top half position of 12th.
Last Time Out:
Clark Robertson's 89th minute equaliser at The Valley on Saturday secured Blackpool a valuable point against Charlton Athletic. The result halted a run of three consecutive defeats in the division and brings cause for optimism ahead of the other festive fixtures.
Scunthorpe, meanwhile, came back from a goal down to beat Southend United 3-1 at Glanford Park. Kevin van Veen and Conor Townsend got themselves on the score-sheet, with the other effort a Michael Turner own goal.
Blackpool came through the game against Charlton relatively unscathed, with Clark Robertson recovering from illness to perform. The manager made five changes for the fixture and may well reward some of those players with an extended run in the side. Mark Cullen, Kyle Vassell and Ollie Turton remain sidelined, however.
Rory McArdle and Andrew Crofts miss out for Scunthorpe due to injury, while Neal Bishop misses out on facing his former club because of suspension. One ex-Blackpool player who will start is goalkeeper Matt Gilks.
