Pool Head To Brunton Park
Fixture | Carlisle United vs Blackpool
Date | 11 February 2017
Venue | Brunton Park
After four draws on the spin, Blackpool will look to go one better by picking up all three points at high-flying Carlisle United on Saturday.
If The Seasiders can become only the second team to win at Brunton Park this season, they could rise as high as ninth with 41 points.
It’s the first of back-to-back fixtures against promotion hopefuls, with a trip to Portsmouth also on the horizon – a big four days for Gary Bowyer’s men.
Carlisle are currently sat in third, with a four-point buffer on fourth, but have drawn more games than any other club in League Two this season.
Blackpool were held to a goalless draw with Crawley Town on Tuesday, after Colchester United had come from behind to claim a point at Bloomfield Road three days earlier. Their last win came over Hartlepool United on Boxing Day.
Carlisle are unbeaten in four matches, but their last outing at Leyton Orient brought the only win of that sequence. Prior that victory Keith Curle’s men had been held by Morecambe, Accrington Stanley and Barnet.
Gary Bowyer confirmed on Thursday that he will give Andy Taylor and Brad Potts as long as possible to prove their fitness. Otherwise, only Jim McAlister misses out.
United must do without the suspended Jamie Proctor, who picked up two yellow cards on debut last weekend. Skipper Danny Grainger and leading scorer Jason Kennedy miss out through injury.
