Defender Relishing Ewood Park Trip
Tom Aldred believes Blackpool’s FA Cup third round victory over Barnsley gives them the confidence to repeat the trick at Blackburn Rovers this weekend.
The Seasiders beat The Championship side at Oakwell after a replay and now travel to Ewood Park looking to enjoy an equally successful away day.
Having played his part in the Barnsley success, Aldred insists spirits are high going into their latest tie.
“Barnsley are flying high in The Championship and beat Leeds on Saturday night, so we’ll take massive confidence from that and look to try and hit the same performance levels as we did there.”
Blackpool are in the fourth round for the first time since 2012 and Aldred sees to reason why their run should end on Saturday.
“The FA Cup’s a competition we’ve done quite well in this season. To go away to our local rivals, we’re obviously looking forward to it and it should be a good occasion.
“We feel we can go there and not only put a performance in, but also get a result. The next round of the FA Cup is something we want to be in,” he added.
