Manager Provides Injury Update
Gary Bowyer is hoping for some timely injury boosts ahead of Blackpool's Emirates FA Cup tie at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
The Seasiders were without five first-team players for the match against Yeovil Town last weekend, yet one or two could return if they come through training.
"We're going to give some a go today in training and see how they go," the manager confirmed. "Hopefully they come through and then it's a decision of whether they're actually ready to go and play in a cup tie."
The one thing the manager doesn't want is for any player to rush back and then be sidelined with a recurrence, which would ultimately rule them out of several league matches.
"That's the most important thing, we make sure we don't lose anybody by being emotional for this game and picking them for that," he said.
One player who definitely misses out is Nathan Delfouneso, who started his latest stint with Blackpool in fine fashion last weekend. The striker is cup-tied having featured for Swindon Town in the first round of the competition.
"It's disappointing for him because of his connections with Blackburn as well. The impact that he's had already in the club has been massive, and it's what I knew he could bring. He's got to get himself ready for next weekend now," he added.
