Manager Happy To Utilise Winger Up Front
Gary Bowyer says he's excited by Bright Osayi-Samuel's potential to play up-front for Blackpool.
The manager has utilised the winger in a variety of attacking positions in recent weeks and feels the 19-year-old has the attributes to cause real problems for the opposition.
"I'm certainly excited by it," Bowyer admitted. "I think he's got the potential to be able to play up there. The one thing he has got, which defenders up and down the country are frightened of, is pure pace.
"He's got this desire to go and run at people and take people on. From a central area sometimes we feel he can have an advantage.
"It's worked for us in the short-term that we've done it but you also see how effective he is when he goes out wide in games, like at Barnsley."
Osayi-Samuel quickly followed up his first professional goal last month with a vital winner in the Emirates FA Cup at Barnsley last week, while the defensive side of his game is also improving.
"That's to be expected, he's a young lad and he's still learning the game," the manager said. "He's got to be allowed time to develop and he's developing in a first-team, which is a harsh environment to learn your trade in.
"He's doing ever so well and we continue to work with him to hopefully keep improving him. He's now contributing goals but more importantly his defensive side has improved, which is great for us," he added.
