Seasiders Focus On FA Cup

Fixture | Blackpool vs Barnsley
Date | 7 January 2017
Venue | Bloomfield Road

Preview
The Emirates FA Cup third round weekend provides Blackpool with an opportunity to defy the odds with victory over Championship side Barnsley.

After defeat to Mansfield Town on Monday, The Seasiders are looking to bounce back and continue to fight on three fronts.

Gary Bowyer’s men have moved past Kidderminster Harriers and Brackley Town to reach this stage and and now face an in-form Barnsley side.

Promoted from League One last season, The Tykes sit just outside the Championship play-off places after a good Christmas period.

Recent Form
Blackpool were beaten by Mansfield Town on Monday – their second home defeat on the trot, but they’d previously taken four points from six available after Christmas.

Barnsley struck late to earn victory at Nottingham Forest on Monday. Prior to that they’d beaten Blackburn Rovers and drew with Birmingham City.

Team News
Mark Yeates will miss out once more for Blackpool. Colin Daniel may make his return, having missed the last month with a hamstring injury.

Barnsley have lost Sam Morsy, who recently returned to his parent club Wigan Athletic, however Adam Armstrong has extended his stay at Oakwell and is available to feature.
