Youngster On Memorable FA Cup Night
Bright Osayi-Samuel was left almost speechless after netting a dramatic last minute winner to send Blackpool into the FA Cup fourth round.
The teenager came off the bench and bent home a memorable strike to see off Championship Barnsley at Oakwell.
Speaking post-match, Osayi-Samuel relived the moment he secured Pool a trip to Blackburn Rovers.
“I knew another chance would come and luckily I got my goal,” he said. “I don’t even know what happened, all I know is ‘Yeatsey’ passed it and somehow I had it.
“I just wanted to side foot it, like I did at Stevenage, and I was happy to see it go in.”
Osayi-Samuel played his part in a terrific team performance and was proud of the showing by the men in blue at Oakwell.
“Barnsley are in The Championship and are known for scoring a lot of goals so to only allow them to score one goal is a great achievement.
“They had the ball a lot, so for us to keep our shape and go until the last minute, was good,” he added.
