Defender Taking The Positives
Andy Taylor insists Blackpool must take the positives from their FA Cup run into their League Two campaign.
The Seasiders bowed out at Ewood Park on Saturday, after previously knocking out Kidderminster Harriers, Brackley Town and Barnsley.
Now they’re forced to concentrate fully on League Two and Taylor refused to get too downhearted post-match.
“We've got to take the positives from what came from the cup run,” he said. “We beat a Championship team but things didn’t go our way on Saturday.
“We wanted a good cup run and got to this stage, but it’s over so we’re naturally disappointed. We’ve got to dust ourselves off and go again in the league.”
Two goals behind and down to ten men but Taylor was impressed with how Blackpool continued to challenge their Championship hosts.
“You come to these places with a game plan, to try and stay in the game as long as you can.
“That goes out of the window after the early goal and the second was a wonder strike so all of a sudden you’re 2-0 down, but we stuck at it and created a few chances of our own.
“We had nothing to lose and didn’t want to go out with a whimper but have a go. On another day one or two chances go in and things could have been a little bit different,” he added.
