Mark Cullen says a spread of goals throughout the team will only reap its rewards again for Blackpool this season.
The striker is one of nine players to have scored so far this pre-season and he expects plenty more to get on the score-sheet when the new campaign officially gets underway.
“All the lads are capable and we saw that last season with the spread of goals right throughout the team. It’s a good thing to have within the squad because it doesn’t put all the burden on one man,” he insisted.
Cullen, who was one of three players to score 13 for Blackpool last season, has found the net four times in two games this month, having recently returned from injury.
“It had been a long couple of weeks for me with not joining in with the lads and that. It’s been good to get some minutes under my belt in the last two games and get a few goals as well,” he admitted.
The problem that initially kept him sidelined was sustained at the back end of last season, with the 25-year-old playing through the pain barrier at Wembley.
“In the play-off second-leg I pulled a ligament in the toe area and it didn’t really heal over the summer. I had to do a bit of work to get it right, but hopefully it’s behind me now,” he said.
“Last season I had a stop-start time during pre-season so I wanted to come in this season and get up and running straight away, which I wasn’t able to do because I missed a few sessions. I’m back now though and hopefully I can push on and get fit and ready for the start of the season.”
A pre-season fixture at Macclesfield is all that remains ahead of the big kick-off at Bradford City and Cullen relishing being back in Sky Bet League One.
“It’ll be a good challenge for the lads and hopefully we can have a good season,” he added.
