Middlesbrough have joined Blackpool, Wigan Athletic and Accrington Stanley in the Checkatrade Trophy Northern Group B this afternoon.
Round One once again consists of a group stage, with Boro playing all three of their games away from home.
Blackpool will host Wigan in their first tie, before a trip to Accrington and a home clash with Boro.
