Blackpool’s pre-season campaign concludes at Moss Rose this weekend, as Gary Bowyer’s men face National League side Macclesfield Town.
Pool have beaten Southport, Salford City, Radcliffe FC and Chorley and also drew with league opposition on Wednesday, as preparations were intensified.
12 new signings have arrived at Bloomfield Road over the summer and they’ll hope to be involved at Moss Rose, as Bowyer experiments ahead of the season opener next weekend.
Bright Osayi-Samuel, Mark Cullen and Kyle Vassell have been hitting the back of the net regularly during pre-season and both will look to stake a claim for a starting spot at Bradford City.
The Silkmen finished ninth in the National League last season and have the likes of former EFL players Shwan Jalal, George Pilkington and Danny Whitaker at their disposal.
Macclesfield have beaten Crewe Alexandra and Bury during pre-season, however John Askey’s side have also suffered defeats to Stockport County and Derby County.
The two clubs have gone since 2008 without meeting, with Town progressing in the Carling Cup after a 2-0 win at home to Pool.
