After being reunited with three former team mates, Kelvin Mellor has backed Blackpool's latest recruits to succeed in tangerine.
The defender won promotion from League Two with Ollie Turton and Max Clayton, with all three progressing through the club’s youth system.
Furthermore, the 26-year-old twice finished in the League Two Play-Offs with Peter Hartley, and he believes all three will add plenty to The Seasiders.
“They’ve all asked me about the place and I’ve only said good things because that’s all it’s been,” he said.
“I’m excited to work with them all again. What the Crewe lads bring is a bit different to what we had last year so I’m excited to see what they’ve got.
“Peter (Hartley) is a very good centre-half, very good on the ball, so he’s a plus too.”
Promotion capped a fine personal season for Mellor, who won a host of accolades, and he described the buzz around the camp on the first day of pre-season.
“It would have been nice to have a longer break but we did it the better way by winning at Wembley. Now we’ve got to look ahead, we’re in a higher league and have to get on with it.
“We’ve come in this morning and there’s a great vibe with the lads and staff and everyone’s buzzing to get going,” he added.
