Pool Back At Home
Fixture | Blackpool vs Hartlepool United
Date | 25 March 2017
Venue | Bloomfield Road
Gaining momentum at the ideal time, Blackpool take on Hartlepool looking to make it nine games unbeaten and edge into the play-off places in the process.
The Seasiders have won their last two games, showing their battling capabilities, and they look to mix them with the clinical side they’ve displayed on their way to bagging 59 League Two goals this season.
Gary Bowyer’s men sit a point outside of the top seven and have three teams within their reach, should they pick up maximum points.
Hartlepool still have work to do if they’re to secure EFL football for another season, so they’ll be hoping a positive result can extend the eight-point gap they have on the relegation zone.
The Seasiders have seen off Stevenage and Newport County in recent weeks, and haven’t tasted defeat since mid-February at Portsmouth. On home soil Pool have seven wins to their name and haven’t lost there since the start of the year.
Hartlepool were beaten 2-0 at home to Wycombe Wanderers last weekend but have picked up some promising results recently. Their victory at Cambridge United ended a run of 12 matches without an away win and was their fourth of the season.
Bowyer has leading goal scorers Brad Potts and Kyle Vassell back fit and available for selection. Andy Taylor is also back in contention, however Jim McAlister and Armand Gnanduillet miss out through injury.
Hartlepool hope to have Rhys Oates back from a thigh injury and Matthew Bates is expected to travel. Liam Donnelly and Carl Magnay are also expected to be fit for the fixture, however Trevor Carson remains out with a shoulder injury.
